Martin,
Thanks for answering items here. It's great to get a definitive answer for us.
My question is regarding belt slots vs. backpack space. I do not see the advantage of putting potions in the belt slots since they can get damaged when attacked in the belt. In order to use a potion, either in the belt slot or in the backpack, both require that one not use an attack action in order to use the potion...
So what is the advantage of having things in the belt slots outside of having extra space once you run out of room in the backpack?
Thanks!
Martin,
Ah, ok... got it. Thanks for the excellent information and thought!
I didn't realize one could have more than one potion in a belt slot.
This is a good question as the differences may not seem apparent at a glace.
So, if you have say 4 items in a belt slot, 3 are potions, or brews and 1 is a scroll, you could in effect use all 3 potions, or brews by using just 1 "use belt item"combat action (you gulp down the lot), you would however need to use the "cast a spell" combat action, to cast the scroll.
Now lets consider if the belt slot was empty, you would first need to spend a combat action to "Change Equipped Items" and move a single potion, brew or scroll to the belt slot (you can only move 1 item from the equipment section to the backpack area and 1 item from backpack area to the equipment section at a time). You would then need to spend another combat action to use the potion, brew, or scroll. This would cause each potion, brew or scroll to take 2 combat actions to use.
