I'm sure others have fiddled with a mana system, as have I. I house-ruled a maximum of Mana points to equal your Magic Bonus, so initially 0, then 5, 10, 15, 20. I had Mana regenerate at 1/5 your max (ie 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) each time you would tick the time for oil, so you could regen 3/5 your Mana very 12 hours, all of it in 24 hours. I also ruled that you can tap into your HP when mana was spent. I had not added the idea of Elixers to replenish MP. It seemed to work well for the adventurer I trialed it with.
