The D100 Space Galaxy Builder book states that ports become static once the captain has traded any goods there.
However, it also mentions the name of the new static port being added (the simple, clear rule above) or that the name may replace that of another static port (p 28 - Finishing the Port Phase).
In short, how does a static port replace another one?
Based on the rules as I understand them, all static ports stay static until the captain lands there, then finishes the port phase without trading any cargo (and thus possibly removing the port from the static port list), but more information would help. Or are we limited to only one static port at any time? (thus the new one replacing the previous port)
Everything else in the book is crystal clear, so it might be just me being dense. 😀
Hi Mihail, a great question. There can only be one static port at a time. As soon as a captain finishes the port phase, the port the captain is at will become the static port. This is the only time a port is made static. I think the sentence in parenthesis in the BEGINNING THE PORT PHASE that reads: (ports become static, if the captain traded cargo at them the last time they performed a port phase) is ambiguous and needs changing to (ports become static when the captain performs and ends a port phase there; see Finishing The Port Phase). I will earmark this for a future update.
