Hi Martin,
In version 3 what is the reason for the Armour number. Does a higher # give a better defence (can't find it in the rules) or is it to merely reflect that it's a superior piece of equipment and therefore costs more|?
The rules give an example of a Leather Cap (0 Rated) being able to deflect damage so I'm assuming it's not about deflection rating.
Am I missing something? Confused from Hampshire.... (not difficult with my advanced years, LOL). Any help appreciated. Loving the game and just ordered the companion book too. Old school heaven.
Hi Colin, thanks for supporting the game with your order. The higher the armour rating the better the defence, when the monster hits a location with armour worn, the A value is deducted from its damage. You should find the details in step 6 of the combat round, p14. Armour like the leather cap, has a A0 so no damage is automatically blocked, but you still get to deflect up to 2 damage if you choose.
